Permit & Renovation Floor Plan FAQs

Do I need as-built drawings for a renovation permit in Vancouver?

Most renovation, addition and secondary suite permit applications ask for drawings of the existing home as well as the new work. What's required depends on your city and the scope of the project, so check with your city or your designer first. We'll measure the home on site and draw the existing layout to match.

What's included with permit and renovation floor plans?

A detailed floor plan drawn to scale and the CAD (DWG) file. The plans show walls, doors, windows and stairs, with room dimensions and square footage.

Can you help if I don't have the original blueprints?

Yes. That's what this service is for. We measure the home or building on site and draw exactly what's there today, so you don't need any original plans.

Do you design the renovation or stamp the drawings?

No. We draw what exists today. Your designer, architect or engineer designs the new work and provides any stamped drawings, and they can build right on top of our CAD file.

What areas do you serve?

Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, plus Kelowna and the Okanagan.

How much do permit and renovation floor plans cost?

Every project is different, so please contact us for pricing and details.
